Sophy's Perpetual
(China, unknown parentage, 1928) – pink blend. Although classed as a China this is actually a cross between
a China and a Bourbon. Its blooms are rich pink shaded cerise/red on the outer petals. The loose flower form
could be better but that is to be expected from a China. Rich fruity fragrance though so it is worth trying if you
like China roses. Growth is less twiggy than other Chinas and in warm zones 7-10 it can reach up to 10 feet tall.
Here in zone 6b at the very limit of its winter hardiness it stays under 3 feet.
